Maple Smoked Salmon
Hot Smoked Salmon. This smoked salmon recipe uses maple wood for a great smoked salmon with a maple syrup glaze crust on the outside.
Ingredients:
– 4 small Salmon fillets (5oz each)
– 1 cup maple syrup
– 1/2 tablespoon coarse salt
– 1 tablespoon butter
– 1 maple SmokePistol cartridge
Smoker Preparation and How to Smoke Salmon
Remove any skin from salmon fillets. Place salmon fillets in a shallow baking dish and pour maple syrup on top. Flip fillets in dish to coat both sides. Sprinkle each side lightly with salt then cover and refrigerate for 24 hours.
Start the SmokePistol and place fillets in smoker for about 1 1/2 hours without heat (cold smoke). Bring smoker to 160 degrees F and continue smoking for 25 minutes. Remove the salmon from the smoker and place in a buttered skillet on the cook top. Cook salmon in skillet for about 2 minutes per side on medium heat. This makes the maple glaze on the surface of the salmon.
